Your Role in This Journey
Matters More Than You Know.
CMBA is a partnership. When parents and mentors are engaged, participants grow faster, stay accountable, and carry the lessons further. This hub is built for you.
You Are Part of the Program
Research consistently shows that young people thrive when the adults in their lives are actively engaged in their development. At CMBA, we don't just work with participants — we work with the whole support system. This page gives you everything you need to show up well.

What to Expect Each Month
Every month includes a dedicated parent and mentor touchpoint. Here is how it works.
Orientation & Foundations
An onboarding call to walk you through the program structure, your role, and how to support your participant during the self-discovery and identity modules.
- Welcome call with the lead coach
- Program overview and expectations
- How to support identity and values work at home
Emotional Intelligence Check-In
A mid-program touchpoint focused on emotional regulation and communication. Learn what your participant is working through and how to reinforce it at home.
- Progress update from the coach
- Conversation starters for emotional topics
- How to respond when they practice new skills
Leadership & Completion Celebration
A final session to celebrate growth, review the participant's personal leadership plan, and discuss how to sustain momentum after the program ends.
- Participant showcase and reflection
- Review of the personal leadership plan
- Post-program support and next steps
How to Support Your Participant
You don't need to be a coach. You just need to show up consistently.
Ask, don't interrogate
After sessions, try open-ended questions like "What was one thing that stood out to you today?" rather than "What did you learn?" Give them space to share on their terms.
Celebrate small wins
Character growth is gradual. Acknowledge when you notice them making better choices, managing emotions well, or showing initiative — even in small moments.
Model what you want to see
Young people learn more from what they observe than what they're told. When you demonstrate integrity, accountability, and emotional regulation, it reinforces everything they're learning.
Attend the monthly sessions
The monthly parent and mentor check-ins are not optional extras — they are a core part of the program. Your attendance signals to your participant that their growth matters to you.
Be patient with the process
Transformation takes time. There will be weeks where progress feels invisible. Trust the process, stay consistent, and know that the seeds being planted will grow.
Communicate with the coach
If you notice something — a struggle, a breakthrough, a concern — reach out. The coach is a partner, not just a service provider. Open communication makes the program more effective.

Questions From Parents & Mentors
We ask that parents and mentors attend the three monthly check-in sessions (one per two-month phase) and stay in general communication with the coach. Beyond that, your involvement at home — asking questions, celebrating wins, modeling good character — is what makes the biggest difference.
